EKU Pool Rules


  • No one may enter or remain in the pool area unless an appropriate EKU lifeguard is present.
  • Shower before entering the pool and after restroom use.
  • Please present valid EKU ID to the lifeguard when signing in.
  • Only clean, family appropriate bathing suits may be worn in the pool.
  • Minors must be accompanied at all times, including while using locker rooms and restrooms.
  • Only U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets and wearable foam flotation devices are allowed.
  • No diving in shallow water.
  • Do not enter the pool if you have an open wound or contagious illness.
  • All pool equipment must be returned to the proper place after use.
  • Do not bring food, drink, gum, or items made of glass to the pool.
  • Spitting, spouting water from mouth, or blowing the nose in the pool is prohibited.
  • Walk at all times.
  • No extended breath-holding or hyperventilation.
  • This pool is designated for lap swimming. Please share the lanes.
  • Pool patrons must be cautious in the use of diving boards.
  • For aquatic staff training, EKU does periodic safety drills by simulating emergencies.
  • Please call EKU Public Safety at 859-622-1111 or 911 in the event of an emergency.
  • Maximum capacity in the Alumni Coliseum pool is 63 persons.
